At age twenty, Molly Shakespeare knows a lot.
She knows Descartes and Kant.
She knows academia and Oxford.
She knows that the people who love you leave you.
She knows how to be alone.
But when Molly leaves England's grey skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn—she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.
When a chance encounter with notorious star quarterback, Romeo Prince, leaves her unable to think of anything but his chocolate-brown eyes, dirty-blond hair and perfect physique, Molly soon realises that her quiet, solitary life is about to dramatically change forever...
I really enjoyed this book. Molly grew up in England, was an only child and lost both parents at a young age. She has no family left but never really let that get to her. She left England to go to Alabama at the request of one her professors. She is studying for her Masters in philosophy. There she meets the one and only Romeo Prince.
Romeo or "Rome" as her prefers to be called is in Molly's class where she is a TA. He challenges her in many ways as he tries to get to know her. Rome has the opportunity to go to the NFL as long as he does what he is told.
I was afraid that Molly was going to be the one with all the issues, but Rome has his fair share of "issues." I loved the two of them together, they found the middle ground and worked through their problems for the most part. Rome scared me a few times with his need to control, I was not to sure of how I felt about the two of them ending up together. But then again things have a way of working out.
The book was nonstop, there are so many moments that had me holding my heart or pulling my hair out that I was not sure how that particular situation was going to pan out. I was scared then happy then needing to bash someones head in (not Rome's or Molly's). I can say there are a few players in this book you will really hate, I mean HATE! One part in the book threw me into depression, I did not want that to happen, but Rome was so perfect and caring for Molly, trying to get her threw it.
As there relationship progresses Molly learns about "American Football." Rome is glad that she does not know anything about football, but yet at every game she is there they have this "thing" that they do and it is really sweet. They have a lot of obstacles thrown at them, more than I could ever handle, but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I have said enough and given a few "almost spoilers" away, I hope that you get the book and enjoy reading it as well. OH, one last note....no cliffhanger.
Enjoy a little Excerpt
Romeo’s nostrils flared and he stepped closer. “You want to know all about my sexual past,
all the sordid details? Fine! I’ve fucked a lot of girls, in many different ways, in many
different places. They’d throw themselves my way and I’d give them what they wanted, and
they’d fuckin’ love it.”
Before I knew what’d happened, I’d struck his face with my hand, the loud slap amplified by the tinny acoustics in the boxy room.
Blood scolded my veins, my chest pounded, and Rome turned a dark shade of purple.
“Did that feel good? Have you got it outta your system now?” he bit out, rubbing his hand along his cheek.
Tears swelled in my eyes. I didn’t mean to hit him, but no one had ever evoked such a reaction in me before. I was physically shaking with the sudden rush of adrenalin.
Romeo leaned against the opposite wall, lowering his head. “They fucked Bullet. They only ever fucked Bullet!”

My breath paused with hurt. “Nice, Rome. Real nice. Is that what you’ll do to me? Let me
fuck the great Bullet Prince, give me what I want, and move on?”
He stormed forward, forcing me back so my spine was flush against the cold steel shelves, his arms bracing me in a cage on either side. “Not at all, Shakespeare, but hear this. I’m gonna fuck you, but I’m also gonna make love to you too. I’m gonna own every goddamn piece of your soul, and I’m never gonna let you go. You’re gonna scream my name over and over until it’s permanently lodged in your fuckin’ throat. You’re not gonna be just a fuck to me, Mol—you’re gonna be my fuckin’ salvation!”
