Synopsis
Grant
Manwhore. Adrenaline junkie. Lead singer of ContraBand. What you see is what you get. I make no apologies for my actions, and by now no one expects any from me. I live my life the way I want and as long as it pushes the demons back, then I'm solid. I've never needed a chick for more than a good lay. Why would I need just one when I can have a different one every night?
Until she walks into my world.
Aribel
Mouthy. Perfectionist. Princeton student. Chemistry major. Yes, that pretty much describes me. Oh, and virgin. But I'm only nineteen, and have more important things to concern myself with. What really matters is finishing my degree and getting a good job. I’ve worked hard for what I want, and do what’s expected of me. I don’t need anyone to get in my way.
Until he opens up my world.
But if I give you my world, whatever you do…don’t TAKE ME for granted.
My Review:
5 Stars!
Grant... He is a cocky asshole who doesn't care what anyone thinks about him. He's going to do whatever he wants WITH whoever he wants. He's trying to make it big with his band and along with that comes groupies who only want to sleep with a rockstar, and Grant is more than happy to BE that rockstar. When he meets Aribel, she kind of takes him by surprise and definitely isn't what he expects her to be, at all! She isn't about to take any crap and fall for him just because he's a hot, sexy rocker. She's set on a path that she's determined to see through and Grant isn't good for that. They both bring something to each other that the other one needs. They're a great balance. But, when things go bad, they really go bad. I'm not a spoiler reviewer so I'll leave it at that.
I will say that at first, I wasn't a fan of Grant AT ALL. I thought I was going to have to give this book 3 stars, but of course, like KA Linde does, she made me fall for him eventually. The love that Grant and Aribel have doesn't come easy and it takes work to keep it, but to me that's the best kind. The love that is just automatically there doesn't always feel worth it to me. They definitely proved that they wanted each other and that made me love each of them even more. KA's writing is, once again, totally on point for this one. She is great at making you fall for the bad guys, the ones who you don't want to love. It was refreshing to see her step outside of her normal love triangles and do something different! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Take Me for Granted
Author Interview
1. Which of your characters would you like to meet in person, why?
Clay Maxwell from the Record series. He’s arrogant and overly self-assured, but I think there’s a puppy under the hard exterior.
2. What do you do when you’re not writing?
My favorite thing when I’m not writing is to dance. I coach a dance team for the University of Georgia and I do acrobatic pole dancing.
3. What’s the most amusing thing that’s ever happened to you as an author?
When I was at Book Bash last year in Orlando, a reader brought a broken iPad to my table, but she had literally thrown it across the room in anger while reading Avoiding Commitment.
I asked her, “But did you finish?!”
And she said, “Of course! I made my husband go buy me a new one!”
4. If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change?
No. I don’t really think that redos work that way. The way things happened are the way they are supposed to happen. I’m proud of the work I’ve done and the accomplishments I have made so far at this point in my career.
5. Can you tell us anything about your upcoming book?
Take Me for Granted came to me on a whim in the midst of a conversation with a friend of mine. Up until that night I had no intention of writing the book and then miraculously I had the whole story laid out before me. Eight thousand words later I decided I had a book on my hands and better keep going. I wrote the whole thing in a month, which is fast even for me!
I found it very fun to write Grant and Aribel’s story. He’s this adrenaline junkie manwhore, who acts like he doesn’t need anyone, and she’s this sarcastic hardworking chemistry student, who pushed everyone away even more ferociously. The dynamic that that plays in the book I think is what intrigued me the most.
6. What was your favorite book to write, so far?
On the Record. I wrote it write after finishing Avoiding Temptation, which was probably one of the hardest books to write, so it’s incredibly angsty. The story just flowed out of me.
7. How do you come up with your titles?
Titles almost always come first. I could never start a book without one, but I’m not sure how I come up with them. Usually out of thin air. Avoiding Commitment actually used to be the Art of Avoiding Commitment, but it was lengthy so out of necessity I just shortened it. I’ve never changed a title since then.
8. What has been the toughest criticism you’ve received? Or the best compliment?
I think the best compliment is always when I have readers message to tell me that my story was so realistic they felt like they were living it. So many people wrote to me to tell me about their Jack or their Brady, and it warmed my heart to know that my stories touched lives.
9. Did you read books when you were a child? What did you like to read?
Of course! I read all the time! When I was younger my favorite books were The Witches, Matilda, and Ella Enchanted. I always boasted that I read The Witches like 20 times. LOL
When I got older I read Baby Sitters Club, Sweet Valley, and Gossip Girl.
10. What’s your favorite book(s) that you’ve read recently?
