Let Love In

What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change? 

Madeleine Becker lost everything when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can't get hurt if she doesn't fall in love. 

That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy's pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy's inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past. 

Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Maddy is a young girl that has had a hard life.  She looses her parents at the age of 10 in an car accident.  Due to the lose of them she is depressed and has a hard time letting people in.  Maddy does not see that there are people around her that do love her.  She goes to college with her best friend and decides that she is going to start making friendships and that she will let people in her life.

While they are at a party she comes across Reid, who is a ladies man and does not do relationships.  They have a dance and Maddy sees something in Reid, the same pain that she has.  She realizes that he has some demons as well.  He acts like a total dick to her during a few first encounters and leaves her hanging after a kiss to top "all kisses".  Oh, Reid was felling it too.

"I've wanted to kiss her- to do so much more with her. But that kiss- Oh, God- what the fuck was that kiss? I have never felt anything like that in my life, and well, to put it mildly, I've kissed my share of girls." 

As they both decided that they want to give a relationship a try we get to see Reid as The Knight in Shining Armor.  Reid is the most romantic boyfriend ever.  He goes out of his way to show Maddy that he will always be there for her, to be her family.

They both work on there relationship and speak of there heart aches and fears.  Reid was so worried that Maddy would leave him if she knew his reason for being so closed off, but he tells her anyways.  Maddy became very strong a supportive for him.  The lose that both Reid and Maddy have gone through will carry them together.

The end had a happy/sad ending that was a little cliffhanger-ish but I have a feeling that all will be fine and everyone will be very happy.  This is a very heart warming story that is not filled with Drama for your Mama, just a good begining to a love story.
