Rock the Beat


Twenty-year-old Holly Pearson never dreamed that while working at her father’s motocross track she’d run into the walking, talking definition of trouble in a sexy, tattooed package—Trip Douglas, the man sent to evaluate the track for a possible investment opportunity.  My Review

 First off I think that Trip is absolutely LOVABLE.  I loved trip in all the books before this one.  He was the down to earth and you could connect with him.

 Holly is a fun person who just suffered a heart break by the hands of an asshole named Jackson who happens to be the star attraction at her fathers "Speed Track."   She works there as well and meets this man that is interested in investing in her fathers business which is having financial troubles.  She is very loyal to those that she loves which includes her best friend Max (he needs his own book BTW).
In the very start of the book Michelle does not hold back from getting us to connect with Holly the main character.  She has a attitude and does not take crap from men no matter how good looking they are, but only after her heart was crushed by a certain man.

 Trip is very funny and is attracted to Holly.  I love his initial nick name for Holly (Sugar Tits).  He is brash and a little sure of himself but Holly having no idea who he really is seems to put him in his place and he is happy about it. 

"It's totally obvious she has no clue who the hell I am because she seems rather appalled by me, which NEVER happens.  Most people turn into over-pleasing twits around celebrities.  It's fucking annoying not to be able to get the out of people."

 As they both start to build a working relationship with one another they find that they get along  quite well, and enjoy hanging out as friends.  I really enjoyed the two of together and there dynamic.  Holly really gets to know Trip his feelings for her grow into something more.  Trip gets closer to Holly's Dad as well and I really love her father Bill.  He is a good man that is trying his best to take care of Holly and keeping her from getting hurt.  

 There are a couple turning points in here that I did not see coming but they were nothing that was too hard to handle.  I enjoyed that all the characters in this book any how they loved each other  fiercely.  There was nothing that I did not enjoy while reading.  If you have not read any of the books in this series you will have no problem reading this first.
