Because of You

Because of You (Playing With Fire, #2)Because of You by T.E. Sivec
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The suspense was good.  The things you think are going to happen....well do they?

This is Brady's book whom we got introduced to in the first Playing With Fire Book.  Brady is a former Navy Seal who retired after a mission going completely wrong.  He tried the cop thing for a while and that was not good either.  So he has a little PI business that he runs with his sister Gwen.  Brady has a lot of dark secrets that he has tried to wash away through drinking.

Layla Carlysle is a big music star.  She is number one on all of the charts sense she was fifteen years old.  She seems to have a perfect life.  The problem is she very lonely and trusts one person, her bodyguard  and best friend Finn.  After the death of her father who she loved very much she has become very broken.  She does what ever her mother tells her.

Eve Carsyle is Layla's mother and one cruel BITCH.  She controls everything Layla does.  What she sings, wears and how she dresses.  Eve does not care about her daughter only how much money she can make off her.  She is a deceitful little Bitch.  She knows her mother hates her but still she does as she is told.

Layla has received a few letters that are disturbing.  Her mother hires a PI (Brady) to find out who's doing this.  Layla is not happy to have a new bodyguard with her.  To her he is someone else on her mothers payroll.  Eve feels that any publicity is good.  So if someone is out there threatening her daughter that is a good thing.  She hires Brady so that people will see that she cares even though she does not.

Brady meets her for the first time and all his thoughts on what this Pop Princess were go right out the door. The attraction is there.  He is confused because what the world sees is not what he is looking at right now.  He wants her.

Brady and Layla try to fight there attraction for one another but find it difficult.  Brady does not want to get close to her.  But the pull he has for her is inevitable.  He sees how Eve treats Layla and wonders why she allows this.   Brady is jealous of the friendship that Layla and Finn have.  But as there relationship grows Layla and Finn's struggles.

What I loved about this book was EVERYTHING.

I wanted to beat Eve with a bat.  Stupid self centered mother.  I wanted her to get run over by a Mack Truck, fall off a cliff heck get stung by a bee and be deathly allergic to them.  Layla what the hell is wrong with you!  Get stronger.  She had her reasons of why she put up with her moms shit.  Shes was being selfless so she thought.

As things heat up for both Brady and Layla there are events that try to pull them apart.  They both fall in love with the other but both have there own secrets to hide that it prevents them from telling the other how they really feel.  Things are starting to be put together and now I know where this is going.  I am sure that I know who is the bad person here.

There are situations that happen throughout the book that made me sure I knew who was the fucker that needed to go.  Well, the Crazies come out to play and NOTHING is what it seems.  Then right towards the end I really thought I had this all figured out.  I was very sure of it.  How much worse can it get?   Well I was wrong.......or was I?

I'll never tell...........

I guess you will have to find out all on your own how this book ends.

This is the 5th book I have read by Tara and I am blown away every time I read one of her books.

Just when you think it can't get better than the last one, you find out IT CAN.  Can't wait to see what she does with her next book.

Take me Back

We pick up where Taken by Storm has left off.  Rachel and Merrick are leaving the Plantation to head back to Turtle Tear Island.  Rachel has a party to tend to on the Island in 5 days.  The issues is Ingrid's ghost is consuming all of Rachel's thoughts.  This puts a wedge between Merrick and Rachel.  But she can't stop.  Ingrid is invading her thoughts and dreams.  She wants to help her and bring her back to Turtle Tear Island.  It has become an obsession for her.
This causes more issues for Rachel as she starts to keep things from Merrick or lie to say the least.  He becomes very worried for her.  Merrick does not believe in ghosts so this further causes a problem for them.  Then an unlikely person sees that Rachel is not making this up as they come to deal with Ingrid's ghost as well.  Rachel then struggles to find what she needs to do to resolve this issue.  More lies are said and promises are broken.

Merrick goes to desperate measures to bring Rachel back to where they once were.  The wall she is putting up with him he wants down and is torn on how to help her.

Can she bring Ingrid back to Turtle Tear Island?  Can she fix hers and Merricks relationship when it all started on lies to begin with?  Are the still hot for one another? Do they find the recipe to the Key Lime Pie?

I wish that the book was longer.  I have been dying to read more about Rachel and Merrick.  There are so many issues that they still have to resolve.  This book brings some of them to the surface.  I guess we will have to wait and see how things progress in the next book.  SO for those who are a fan you will be happy to read this and have a little bit of Rachel and Merrick in your life.

I rate this 4 out 5 stars.

Beauty from Surrender

I am so Fucking happy that I finally got read this book.  I was thinking that I would need therapy soon if it did not come out.  This me doing my happy dance.
Anyways, we pick up right where Georgia killed us all.  Laurlyn left Jack Henry and came back to the US.  She is very heart broken and is trying to just keep going om with her life.  She returns back to the recording studio with that asshole Blake Phillips and we get to see just how much of an ass hole he is.  It was one of those moments that you are thinking WTF and then she handles her business....

She finds a gig and starts to make a name for herself.  I LOVE LOVE the stage name that she picked for herself.  It was perfect and heart breaking at the same time.  She goes on the road with her band members for 3 months.

Jack Henry has spent the last 3 months trying to find Laurlyn.  He is very much in love with her and wants her to come back to Australia to become his wife.  The road to finding her is not easy.  He did not know her last name or where she would be in Nashville.  But his determination was well worth the effort.

He comes to her and then......
So he has a month off to get her back.  But as much as they both want it her chance at becoming a music star is right in her hands.  How do you choose?  He wants to be selfish and have her come back. He would never forgive himself if she gave up everything and then regretted it later.  Decisions have to be made.  Can they survive more time apart?

Let me start by saying that this was my favorite out of the two books.  Georgia wrote this so beautifully that I could feel EVERY emotion that was going on.  I am totally Swooning over JH right now.  You could really connect with both JH and L.  The sex in this book was HOTTER than the first one.  Shit they were like rabbits, going at it all the time.  I really enjoyed the dirty talk in the book.  The way that they had fun together.  I think I have a "book boyfriend" forever.  The pace of the book was perfect, it did not seem rushed.

The struggles that they both faced in this book were very realistic.  It was easy to say that this could happen in real life, not some made up fairytale.  I am happy with how Georgia wrote this book and where it ended.  I don't think there was more that she could have given us....Well maybe a little bit more, but then where would that leave us???

Anyways I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

What do you think??

Envisioned

He stepped closer, only a couple of feet away from me. He smelled heavenly, like rain and citrus. “Every night. I've been trying to figure out a way to find you, to save you, and here you are, so close all this time, and I never knew,” he sadly said.
It was my turn to step closer. Tears pooled in my eyes as I said, “I didn't think you existed. I hoped that you did, but I thought I was crazy to believe that I could find you.”
I reached out my hand to touch his face. When I did, a jolt of electricity sparked between us, spreading what felt like burning honey throughout every inch of my body. What was happening to me? Whatever it was, I didn't want it to stop; it was one of those pains that felt amazingly good, almost addictive. Jace's eyes widened as an astonished smile spread across his face. “Unbelievable,” he said as he grabbed a handful of my curls at the back of my head, pulling my face to his to crush his lips to mine.
His kiss was desperate, just like his gaze in my nightmares, only multiplied. I opened his mouth with my tongue, tangling with his as our passion increased. I had never had a kiss come close to this one, and it had just started. He tasted exotic, a subtle sweetness present as he caressed my tongue with his. I clutched his shirt, twisting it in my hands as I tried to pull his body to become one with mine. Heat rushed in-between my thighs and pooled there, sending tendrils of burning warmth up my stomach. I never wanted this to end; the world could stop turning right now, and I would be oblivious, deliriously happy in Jace's lips.

This is my first Blog Tour.  I would like to thank Ena and Fawn for allowing me to be a part of this and I would like to thank the author Nikki Narvaez for writting this book and giving me an ARC to read and review your book.

What I liked about this book.......Girl kicking butt.  You got it.  Brielle De Luca just turned 18 to find out that she is "The One".  You know "The One" who will save the world and possess the ability of all the Elements aka Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.  Yup that's her.

So let's back track a little.  Brielle has been having these nightmares of her and some HOT guy.  Not typical because bad things happen in these dreams.  Fighting other people and the awful feeling that she can't save him.  But why does she have these strong feelings for some one she has never seen before?  Who is he?

Jace Vasquez aka UFC Champion and he possess the Fire Element.  He sees Brielle for the first time and realizes that she is the one in his dreams.  They both meet and realize that they can not stay away from each other.

Brielle is thrown into a world she knows nothing about.  She must learn to control the elements.  Good thing she has people around her to help.  There is also this relationship that moves at lighting speed.   She handles the situation with courage and strength.

I would recommend as a must read book.  The love that Brielle and Jace have for each other is quite intense.  Can't keep your hands off each other type.   The book flows nicely it is easy to stay with the fast pace situations that Brielle faces.  This is an action packed book and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

Taken By Storm

Let me just start off that I am so stinking happy that this book finally came out.  That was a long but WORTH it wait.

Maddie returns to MJ's grandfather's house where her father works.  Maddie is engaged to another man sort of.  She comes back to think about it and decided if she really wants to marry him. She has been gone for over a year.  She was not expecting to deal with MJ or the truth as to why she left him.  Maddie is forced to deal with her feelings for MJ.  She is pulled to him like its her last breath no matter how hard she tries to fight it.  Enzo Rocha reminds her that she is to stay away from MJ or her father will suffer the consequences if she does not comply.  No matter how much she loves MJ and wants a life with him she protects her father the only parent that loves her.

I fell in love with the story of MJ and Maddie.  How can you not. Childhood friends turning into lovers.  Who doesn't like that stuff?   We learn a lot about there childhood and have both POV's from them.  We also get to see Rachel and Merrick, and oh how I love me some Merrick.  We don't get much insight on Merrick and Rachel's relationship but then again the book is not centered around them.  They do however come together to get MJ away from Enzo as soon as possible.  Merrick tells him he did not know about him or he would have come to him sooner.

Enzo Rocha (The Old Man) is a bastard.  That man needs to go down and sleep with the fishes.  The shit that he pulls to keep EVERYONE in the dark is endless.  I mean what the fuck is his problem?  Why does everyone do as he demands?  He is a BASTARD.

So the secret that he is black mailing Maddie with has got to be really big.  So big that he can scare the shit out of Maddie to keep her away from MJ.  He does not love anyone and for some reason his excuse is to make sure that MJ's future is taken care of.  REALLY!!!  Because when we find out the BIG secret and (believe me it was a good one) it makes me wonder what other shenanigans does this asshole have up his sleeve.

MJ dear dear MJ.  This boy has some serious feelings.  Boy can you feel them too.

1. He loves deeply

2. He hates Enzo Rocha (don't we all)

3. He wants to his dad even though he knows that Merrick knows nothing of him

4. He is a fighter.

5. He goes after what he wants

6. He is forgiving

7. Did I mention he is HOT.

MJ tries desperately to get Maddie back.  She is the only person that he loves.  He is angry with her as well he does not know why she left but he knows that it has to be something big for her to have left.  He BEGS her to tell him and she wont.  He is so broken over this.  Then in a heated moment he find her engagement ring and kind of takes it.  He is so over the edge with this, but has hope that she will break off the engagement.   He takes the ring with him to Turtle Tear and she follows him there to get it back.

As they all stay on the Island, MJ is visiting with Merricks sister and her husband.  We find out a lot of secrets as they surface and more people have betrayed Merrick and MJ than we thought.   MJ is fighting to win Maddie back more than ever now.  He will get her back.  He will not fail.

"What did I do wrong?" he whispered.  "What made you leave me?"

She felt the slow burn behind her eyes and couldn't stop it. Tears gathered, blurring her vision.  She blinked hard and his finger traced one down her cheek.

"Tell me," he urged.

The BIG secret was........................What, really noooo I did not see that. Seriously, wait how much more can this situation get screwed up?  There were people involved that I did not think would be involved.

Let's not forget those that knew of this that have betrayed Merrick for MANY MANY years.  Why would they do that?  Is there more to tell or are they just that bad.

I am going to leave you with that and I hope that you buy Kelli's Book because it is that good and if you have not read the other two books in this series then get with the program and read.

Taken (Give & Take, #1)Taken by Kelli Maine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a story about Rachel and Merrick.  This book is told in Rachels POV and 2nd person format.  That is something that I don't think may people can do.

Rachel DelSalvo is a developer/designer and turned down a job offer to work for Rocha Enterprises due to family obligations.  She takes care of everyone else and never puts her needs first.  No matter how much she may want something.

Merrick Rocha is the CEO Billionaire that interviews Rachel and falls for her.  Merrick is very misunderstood. He is devastated that Rachel turns down the job.  So, he looks into her life and finds out all about her. Stalks her for a few months, because talking to her is just out of the question.  I swear that man does not think things through.  So after some not so light stalking and finding out all he can about Rachel, He makes his move by meeting her at a club and drugging her.  That is how she is Taken.

Merrick abducts Rachel and takes her to Turtle Tear Island.  He is in love with her and wants her to work for him to restore the Hotel on the Island.  He calls it her home and that the Island is hers.  He say's that she is the one to bring it back to life.  She is the one for the job.  He thinks that by doing this he will be able to have her and that she will forgive him.  Merrick is trying to regain Rachel's trust.  Rachel is drawn to him and is starting to feel like she really cares for him.  The only issue is that he Took her and she can't let that go despite her wanting to be with him.  Throw in some steamy make out scenes and sexual tension that needs to be released.  There was one part in the book that had my mouth drop open.  There I am reading and enjoying my lovely book and then this one sex scene happens and I was thinking, NO WAY DID I JUST READ THAT?  Let me go back and reread it.  There it was.  I thought for sure after that there was no way that anything good can come out of this.  So I kept reading and well I can't tell you any more than that.  You are just going to have to read it for your self and love it like I did.

There is so much more to this book that I fell in love with.  First reading it from Rachel's POV only at first I had a hard time getting into Merricks head.  It did not take long.  I found myself liking him a lot.  He is troubled quite a bit.  There relationship is not an easy one.  Not in the way that most books are where there is a bunch of angst and your stomach is hurting.  She is just trying to get past the feeling that Merrick left her with.  Merrick has some dark secrets that are troubling him.  You know it.  You feel it in the way he talks to Rachel.  The way they fell in love is definitely not conventional but this is there story and I love it.

REAL

http://www.amazon.com/Real-ebook/dp/B00C9QORFW/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1366108955&sr=1-1

I think I fell in love a little.  OK, a LOT.

Brooke just graduated collage and goes to an underground fight with her BFF Melanie and has never heard of Remington "Riptide" Tate.  She sees him for the first time and that one night she was hooked.  Her first thoughts.
My.
God.
Dimples.
Killer Tan.

Remington pure, complicated, controlled (maybe not) and dysfunctional.  He has a hard time communicating with words, very moody.  BUT my oh my is he HOT!  He is an underground fighter and he is making his way back to the Pros'.  He is the "Real" deal.  The main attraction at the fights.  He hires Brooke to be part of his team as his personal sports rehab specialist.  She travels with them across the country as he fights, to help him keep his body in perfect condition.

I do agree with others that there was a lack of conversation missing from Brooke and Remy.  I however get it.  There is a reason.  I can't tell you if you have not read the book.  Just trust that there a REASON.

Oh shit  the sexual tension that was in this book. it was HOT!!  I don't know if I would have made it.  All that making out and no happy ending.  How much self control can one person have?
All you want them to do is rip there clothes off and take each other right there.   Then they finally do.  Let me tell you the sex they had was pretty damn hot.

Loved the songs that they chose for each other.  She seemed so blind at times, you could tell that he was  telling her how he felt.  Hell, he was SPELLING it out to her.  She was pissing me off.  I know it's a book,  Heck I'm giving this one 5 stars BUT, the over use of the word "pussy" I did not care for.  Sometimes it just seemed like it was placed in there to put it in there if you know what I mean.

Anyways, here is a little something from the book.
Heart-All I Want to do is Make Love to You,
Fate tell me it's right, is this love at first sight
Please don't make it wrong, just stay for the night
All I wanna do is make love to you
Say you will you want me too
All I wanna do is make love to you
I've got lovin' arms to hold on to

Once burned

Once Burned (Night Prince, #1)Once Burned by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read from Jeannie Frost and I am hooked.   I know there are other books out there that can give you insight to most of the Characters in this book but you arr able to read this one without being confused.

The book centers around Lelia and Vlad.  Lelia is human with special abilities.  Lelia works for a traveling circus as a gymnast.  Her coach is a vampire, that treats as a daughter. She was electrocuted by a power line as a young girl and now can not touch people with to much force or she can kill them.  Plus she can see into the past, present and future when she holds objects that belongs to others.  Did I mention that she can read peoples minds?  ANYWAYS, something happens right away in the book and this is how she comes in contact with Vald.

Vlad. Hotness, I mean vampire.  He brings Lelia back to Romania and the sparks fly.  He wants her.  She wants him.  There is someone trying to kill him.  Vald is very honest with her.  He can read her mind, he answers her insecurities.  He will go through great lengths to protect her.  She tries to protect him as well.  The book is fast paced, nothing dragged out over time.  It ends on a cliffhanger, but we don't have to wait.  Twice Tempted is out now and I am reading it.

The Sea of Tranquility

The Sea of TranquilityThe Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was AMAZING. I cried tears of joy, happiness and sadness.  I fell in love with  Josh and Nastya.  The sorrow that they both were going through.  There own hidden secrects.  They  had there own way of dealing with the pain.

The book was slow buliding for me, not in a bad way.  In fact a very good way.  I liked the fact that they found a way to rely on one another in there own way.  That they found solace and trust between the two.

This is a book that I will tell everyone out there to read.  The author did an amazing job writing this book and I will forever remember this as one of my top reads.

Connected

I am at a loss for words.  Just when I thought I was feeling one way, Kim blind sides me.  UGH.  The book is about a woman named Dahlia and finding love not once but twice in a lifetime.  In the beginning of the book her long time love Ben dies (no spoiler there).  She meets rock star River Wilde (again) and the connection that they shared five years ago is reconnected.

Dahlia and River meet (for the second time) two years after Ben's death. She is hired to do some work for his band.  They both remember each other from there first encounter, quick as it was.  They just knew that there was something still, that connection.

I found the pace of the book to be good.  River wants to keep Dahlia around and not let her out of his sight this time.  He won't loose her again.

River Wilde is totally swoon worthy.

There is a plot that has me pulling my hair out.  I am not sure where I want it go.

There are a few things that makes me wonder what will make all the "connections" blend together, but that will have to wait for the next book.

SUPER CLIFF HANGER THERE!  WOW!

By the way Chapter 10 Mazzy Star - Fade into you, I love that song.  LOVE IT.  I was so happy to see it referenced in a book.

I give this 4 out 5 stars.
