Q & A with Jillian Dodd - Giveaway

RAFFLECOPTER GIVEAWAY BELOW.

One of my favorite series is right here.  I love the Keatyn Chronicles.  There are no other books out there like these.  Jillian does an amazing job writing these books.  So check them out.

Keatyn’s crazy life comes together in one perfect script in this special combined addition of the first three books in The Keatyn Chronicles. Book 1 - Stalk Me Keatyn’s life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She's popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most-coveted lunch table. But she’s thinking about giving it all up to date an adorable surfer. So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life come together in perfect harmony.  But little does she know, there's someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn't happen. Book 2 - Kiss Me Keatyn’s always written scripts for her perfect life. But she never would have scripted this. She’s now at a boarding school, where she has new challenges to face. Like tutoring a hottie god that tortures her with his smile. And having the most popular girl hate her because of a guy. So she’s decided to stop trying to script her life and just live it. Because who knows how long she has left. Book 3 - Date Me Keatyn’s giving up scripting her life. Sort of. She’s done with the God of all Hotties. She’s going to give her heart to the boy whose kisses are hotter than molten lava and who asked her to Homecoming in a big, crazy way. Because there’s so much to look forward to. Parties at the Cave. Homecoming festivities. Drama Tryouts. Shopping trips to NY. But things aren’t as perfect as they seem. She knows he’s still out there and getting more desperate. And even though she wants to pretend she’ll never see him again, she knows she will. And she’s afraid that this time, she might not get away.

My mom says that you can't love someone until you learn to love yourself.
So even though Vincent is getting more and more scary.
Even though he's doing a nationwide search for me.
I'm going to learn to love myself.

Well, I'm going to try.
Mostly, I want a boy to love me.
But which one?

Dawson - The gorgeous boy who made a mistake, but whose molten lava kisses and steaminess I can't freaking resist.
or
Aiden - The God of all Hotties, who is practically infused with love potion. Who I thought liked me, but now says he wants to be my friend.
or
Brooklyn - The boy that first stole my heart. Who has always loved me. Well, until the whole cabana incident.

I mean, it was bad enough when there was sort of a love triangle, but now that I'm talking to B again, it's like I'm in a love rectangle, or a rhombus, or something.

Oh, and did I mention Cooper Steele?
The new soccer coaching, health teaching, tattooed hunk?
Who Garrett sent to school to guard my body.
I mean, be my bodyguard.

But back to loving me.
I should forget about boys and worry about me.
Love me.
Like, eventually.

I've finally become the kind of girl my little sisters could look up to.

Except for the lies.

Lying to my friends is killing me.

And the longer I'm there--the closer we get--the more I feel like I'm being eaten from the inside out.

If I go back to Eastbrooke, I'll end up nothing but a shell.

So I'm not going back.

I'm going to St. Croix by myself. And for the first time in my life, I'm okay with being alone.

Except . . . I don't actually end up on the island alone.

I was told if I went away, he'd forget about me, lose interest, and move on.
But he hasn't.
In fact, my being gone has only made things worse.
So it's time for me to take matters into my own hands.
It's time for me to fight back.
Hey, Vincent. You ready for a little chaos?

Will Keatyn get her life back?
And if she does, which life will she choose?

Get Me is the final book in the series.

Q: My friend Amy wants to know if you ever feel pressured to have your characters choose the boy that is most popular with your readers.

A: No.  I planned the entire series and wrote large scenes from each book before I ever published the first one.  So to me it’s always the person it is.

ME: So you are dead set on who moon boy is.  There is no changing it?

Jillian: I couldn’t at this point. There is so much in each book that has clues,

ME: I need the cliffnotes on these clues.

Q: How do you keep track of all your characters? Like who is who, who hooks up with whom etc...

A: I have charts.  First I have one big timeline for all the series that tells me the major plots for each book.  Then for each book I did the same thing, she goes to the different school, she meets Aiden and Dawson, the things she does.  So I try to end things with a happy ending. Except for Hate Me.  I even added stuff to the ending that made it happy for Keaten.  Keaten is happy at the end of all of them.
I will reread all the books before I write and see what needs to happen.  Then I will write all of what Cooper does in the next book, and I will write all those scenes at once. The same for Brooklyn and the others.  I use Scribner which is a screen play writing program so you can take a sceen and move it where ever you want to.  It works well with the scenes that I need to do and then I go back and make them full.

ME: You have got to be really organized for that.

Jillian: I have organized Chaos.
Q: When you started writing your books what was your target age group that you were looking for?

Jillian: Mature adult.
