Synopsis
Where do you turn when all the bridges you have built in life have gone up in flames?
When the ones you love don’t protect you from the monsters lurking in the dark?
I never thought at twenty-eight-years-old I would have nothing to show for my life.
A child given away for strangers to raise.
A childhood ruined.
A life full of dead ends, drug abuse, and one night stands.
I'm at a crossroads, and I have a choice to make. I choose salvation.
I choose life. I choose myself, for the first time ever.
I will find her. I will find the life I was forced to give up.
I just pray that he stays out of my way.
I am Starburst Bloom and this is my story.
MY REVIEW
Starburst "Star" Bloom is a 29 year old prone star who has realized that the life she is living is no longer working for her. Her relationship with her childhood best friend Seven has come to a end now that Seven is in a relationship with a man. Star has many secrets that she never told Seven and now that they are in the open she is on a journey to making peace with her past.
As Star goes back to Woodstock to find the daughter she was forced to give up eleven years ago, she is forced to take a look at herself without the use of drugs. I found this book was not just about finding her daughter Willow, but finding herself along the way. Star has her own demons that she if facing and finding out just how strong she really is. The girl has been through some really tough shit. I just would not know what to do if that were me.
Chrome was a great addition and very likable expect for one little part. Other than that I thought that he was perfect for Star. A man that has his own way of living and has been through a heartache of his own. He seemed to turn around rather quickly and make sure that Star knew where she stood with him.
I found this book an easy read, I decided that I like Star's character more than I did in the first book. I did not dislike her I just felt bad for her. Now I feel that she is in the right place. Oh and Blue.....that motherfucker got what was coming. Total asshole.
