Who We Are

“I thought I had gone through something much worse. I thought the abuse and pain from my mom and step-dad was bad, but this? This heartache? This pain? This depression? This gut-wrenching, heartbreaking moment? This knotted up feeling in my gut, the tightness in my throat, the ache in my chest? It was slowly but surely killing me.”

Eight months.

That’s how long it’s been since Eliza last saw Gage and they both feel as if they don’t deserve one another’s forgiveness. He screwed up. She walked away without looking back. They’ll try and make up all the time they’ve lost with one another, that is until they’re facing the choices of either going their separate ways, or hanging on and fighting for dear life.

The fights will be endless. They heartache will be real. The demons will return, and they won’t back down without a fight.

There are some who will do anything to keep true love apart, and those same people will dig deep into their demonic ways until Eliza and Gage are literally no more.

Can Eliza and Gage overcome it all? Will they be able to face the true demons that are seeking to destroy them? Or will they just forget about everything they’ve worked so hard for and go their separate ways?

Sometimes you have to go through struggles in order to reach an ultimate point of peace… but will their struggle be worth it?

FIVE STARS+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Talk about an emotional roller coaster.  I was not sure that I was going to make it out of this one.  This was not an easy get back together and every ones happy.  This was balls to the wall emotional turmoil.  My heart was twisted more than once and I was in panic mode.  DAMN.

Eliza comes home after 8 months away at collage and reunites with Gage while she is living in New york and interning at Global Arts.  She is still torn over what happened with Gage, but is trying to forgive herself and let him back in.

"There was never a day that went by when I didn't think about how I crushed him.  How he literally buckled to his knees, tears streaming.  I relived that moment every single day of my life and it killed me over and over again.  I know it killed him."

Gage seems in the beginning to want to get Eliza back.  He forgives her and ask for his forgiveness as well.  He tells her that he wants to be a part of her future and that they can do this together.  He seems so sincere in all that he tells her.

"Eliza," he said raggedly, shaking his head.  "Don't.  I understand we all have dreams.  We all have that one thing we want in life, but can I not be a part of that?  Can I not be a part of you accomplishing those dreams?  I'm not asking you to drop out if school or drop everything for me.  if anything, I want you to finish, but I want you to do it with me."

I love Gage.  He did piss me off at times.  His need to protect his family and band over Eliza really upset me.  If he wanted a future with Eliza then he should have thought of her as his family.  Then there is always the issue with Penelope.  That was my biggest fear in this book.  The hold she still has over Gage is unwarranted.  Gage is weak when it comes to this issue.  Right there I question his true love for Eliza.

Gage's need to protect his sister and band was always first.  Even over Eliza.  I did not understand how he would not include her in them after telling her he wants to be a part of her plans.  Pulling away with out explaing why broke Eliza's heart (Mine too).

As long as it took for these two to make there relationship work I was finally glad that the other band members stepped in to get them back together and have them both happy.  Roy and Montana are funny as heck.  The other additions to the book, Kelsey, I was so glad that Eliza had a friend that truly cared about her.  She was very happy and took life as it was (Plus she gets a little love intrest too).  Monica was a total cranky ass bitch, but she was not a back stabber and just told people what she thought, so I liked her.

The Epilogue....

Gage's POV.  Well, all that has been done is water under the bridge for me.  I LOVE HIM.
