I threw my leg over my bike and started for her. The streetlight out front was busted, causing the place to be darker than normal. There was just enough light that as I walked behind her, I could see her sexy little ass encased in those prissy jeans she always wore. I caught up to her at the bottom of the stairs and reached out to grab her arm before she made it any further. Next thing I knew, Teen spun, her fist flying right into my nose; at the same time, she drove her knee up into my groin, dropping me like a sack of shit to the ground.

“F*ckkkkkkkk” I moaned, cupping my junk, rolling up onto my knees, and trying to get my breath back. Pain shot up into my stomach with each attempt.

 “Oh, it’s just you.” Teeny breathed hard. I looked up at her through narrowed eyes.

 “Oh, it’s just…F*ck, Princess. What the hell’d you do that for?” I wheezed.

 “Well, you deserved it. You don’t sneak up behind a chick and expect not to get hit. Now, get up, dipshit. You’re making a scene,” she hissed, looking around the complex.

In July '13, I released Damaged and the Knight with Farah's sister Tawny. She finds her knight in shining armor with Judd O'Keefe. I have several more Damaged books planned for this year.

As for me, I like hearts, flowers, butterflies, puppies, kitten-shaped clouds, and unicorns with rainbows shooting from their asses. I support love and peace. I also like cutting in lines and stealing candy from babies. Wait, did I write that last part out loud? Oops.

DAMAGE AND THE BEAST EXCERPT

Chapter Five


Skye proved to be a reliable chauffeur until Friday when something mysterious happened to her car. That was how she phrased it. Something mysterious. She couldn’t pick me up from work, so I would have to find another way home.

Cooper sat in the back booth, reading a book he clearly hated with a passion. Occasionally, he smacked the book onto the table then glared at it hatefully. Finally, he returned to reading. I had to admit he looked especially hot in the white tee clinging to his strong chest. The contrast of such bright white against his tanned flesh made it difficult not to stare, let alone drool.

While I considered asking Cooper for a ride, I immediately shot down the idea. I had successfully avoided him most of the week, seeing him only on Wednesday night when he came in for dinner. He did a lot of his intense staring and made a few comments squarely in the domain of inappropriate. He also left me another twenty dollar tip. We had created a nice relationship so far, but owing him anything was a mistake.

Cooper just wanted to fuck me. Though I wasn’t wholly against the idea of sex with him, I sensed he would be rough and I’d cry. My tears would likely piss him off and he would find a way to punish me. Maybe I assumed too much, but I didn’t want to take the chance of ruining my life in Ellsberg.

Giving up on asking him or anyone else, I walked outside towards the bus stop. As I hurried through the parking lot, I realized Cooper never left after paying his bill. When I glanced in the direction where he was talking on the phone, I found him staring at me. I turned away quickly, not needing any trouble. Hearing his motorcycle rev, I prayed he was heading to a party and would speed right past me.

“Need a ride?” Cooper asked, pulling over as I walked down the street. “Let me rephrase that. I know you need a ride, but are you desperate enough to take one from me?”

“Why desperate?”

“You tell me. You act like I’m a stalkey douche you can’t shake loose.”

Uh, I wasn’t touching that statement.

“My ride cancelled and it’d be a pain to take three busses.”

“Is that your way of saying you’re desperate enough?”

Studying his grin and the rumbling hog, I figured the ride would take five minutes tops. As for owing him, maybe I could buy him dessert or take notes for him at school. You know, repay him with something besides my body.

Short Excerpt Trust Me?
I turn to face him; he puts his other arm around me. We are in the same position as before when the last kiss attempt failed. My arms are tight around his neck, his arms around my waist. I look down. He lifts up my chin so I’m lost in his gaze. His hand goes back to my waist. He swallows; I think he’s as nervous as I am. He tilts his head and leans in … I back away quickly. 
“What’s wrong?” he asks, looking hurt. 
“Oh, no, it’s not you. I think … I might have garlic breath.” 
He laughs and pulls me back to him. “So do I.” He pulls me in tighter, and before I know what’s happening, his lips are on mine. I give in and surrender to him completely. 
This feels like one of my fantasies, only way, way better. He holds me tight as one hand moves from my waist to caress my cheek, kissing me softly but sensually. My hands move to the back of his head, and I grab a lock of hair in each hand. He moves our bodies so that I’m against the railing at the edge of the deck. He moves his hand from my waist to hold the rail as I still grasp his hair. The kissing becomes feverishly passionate; his tongue against mine as they intertwine with each other. Our breathing becomes faster and erratic. Our kissing becomes more intimate. We are in perfect sync with each other. I pull him closer to me, our whole bodies touching. My heart is pounding fast and hard. His hand moves from my face to the back of my head, pulling me tight. He moves my hair from the side of my neck, breaks our kiss and kisses my neck slowly and seductively. I sigh and breathe in a stuttering motion. I open my eyes to see the waitress standing there, gawking at us. I stiffen as I see her. He pulls back and looks at me. With my eyes, I gesture toward the waitress. He turns, looks, and lets out a little huff. He leans in towards me. 

“Now that’s a first kiss,” he whispers as he grabs my hand and leads me over to the table. I can’t help but smile.

Short Excerpt Love Me?
My nerves start to get the better of me, I start to feel nauseous; those darn pesky butterflies attack again. I’m not sure why I’m nervous, whether it’s the shoes making me unstable or whether it’s the memory of our first date, our first touch, or our first kiss that’s making me bashful.
I turn the corner to see him standing there with a bunch of red roses, in the suit that he changed into earlier, this time with a baby pink tie on. Behind him is that gorgeous waterfall cascading down the cliff with the lush greenery surrounding us. As I take a step closer, I hear music playing. “Thank You for Loving Me” by Bon Jovi. It’s our song. I feel my eyes welling up as all the emotion and love I feel for this man is becoming too much to bear.
His smile is beaming from ear to ear when I approach. Finally I reach him. He holds out his hand for me to take. I take it, and he pulls me into a tight embrace.
“This is perfect,” I whisper.
“Perfection for perfection, my love.” He kisses my cheek, and places the bouquet of flowers on the railing.

Always You - Missy Johnson




I was thrilled when I was offered a graduate teaching position at the prestigious Tennerson Girls Academy. At twenty-three, this would be my first ‘real’ teaching assignment. Working at the elite boarding school, home to the daughters of some of the wealthiest people in the world, was a great opportunity that I would’ve been stupid to pass up.

    CICADA ~ FIREFLY 

Places that Inspired!
Readers of my CICADA trilogy enter the story at the Sonic in a small, inconsequential, southeast Texas town.
To those just passing through on their way to other places, Willis appears to be a tiny town at the crossroads of IH-45 and FM 1097.  Many have nicknamed Willis as a “bedroom community”, which generally means that most people commute to neighboring towns for work.

But, as you may have guessed, there’s more to Willis, Texas than meets the eye.  This mysterious town stretches its arms out into the great Piney Woods like antennae searching for secrets that lay hidden in the unlikeliest of places.  It’s in those places, nestled beneath the shady canopies of the pines and ancient oaks, you’ll find most of the places my characters visit in FIREFLY.


Lake Conroe, for instance, plays a role in the lives of the town folk of Willis and also in the lives of my main character Blair Reynolds, her family, friends, and even a foe.  For, you see, the murky waters of Lake Conroe lap at the eastern boundary of the family ranch.  Not only has the lake provided hours of enjoyment in the lives of many of the characters, but it also ends up saving Blair in the ending chapters of FIREFLY.  If you haven’t visited the lake, you should do so sometime … either on vacation or by picking up my books!

Before my characters prepare to travel to unknown territories south of the border, there are a few stops in Willis where they even bump into actual residents.  If you’re considering a weekend trip to discover where it all happens in FIREFLY, you’ve got to include The Pizza Shack on your list of “must visit” locations.  You can even sit at the same table where Ash and Blair share a pizza together after a run-in at the local Walgreens.


Like most coming-of-age stories, my characters grow and move on to different places.  In the case of Blair and her friends, those places lie deep in the jungles of Brazil where another small, inconsequential town called Cândido Godói harbors secrets about the connection between them and the extraterrestrials that have become a dangerous reality in their lives.  But, to find out more about that, you’ll have to wait for the release of MONARCH in 2014!

Check out my books CICADA and FIREFLY, then plan a trip to visit Willis, Texas!  Though the town may seem small, the adventures are quite the opposite!
